Perseverance

Perseverance: The Key to Success at Indian Lake Central School

At Indian Lake Central School, perseverance isn't just a word; it's a way of life. Students at ILCS embody this spirit daily, overcoming big and small challenges with determination and resilience. Here are some highlights for March.

Thomas Sawyer exemplifies perseverance, showing tremendous growth in work ethic and daily perseverance, even when unwell. Taking this character trait seriously has transformed Thomas's daily disposition, making him a first-grade student ready to learn each day. Jamison Sawyer demonstrates perseverance by tackling challenging academic tasks head-on and asking for help instead of giving up. His growth with a "can do" spirit and determination to succeed is commendable. Ben Lawrence has been working extremely hard during library classes, asking for help when needed, and showing tremendous growth throughout the year. Emmylou Brewster demonstrates perseverance, especially in math, by tackling complex problems independently, not being afraid to make mistakes, trying multiple solutions, and relying on her hard work before seeking help. Grayson Miner demonstrates perseverance in the kindergarten classroom by working hard on complex tasks, asking for help, and being patient. Olivia Seymour quietly perseveres, getting the job done no matter the task and producing quality results. Sandra Boya has proven her ability to persevere by working hard to become a better reader, doing her homework diligently every night, and showing improvement since the beginning of the school year. Charlee Scott is always ready to try her best, listening carefully to advice, taking ideas on board to improve her work, and putting in extra effort and time to excel in her studies. McKenzy Clawson persevered on the middle school field trip by trying broomball and ice skating, stepping out of her comfort zone. She also spent an entire day working hard to catch up on all her work to be eligible to play softball. Unique Stokes persevered on the middle school field trip, participating in her first sleepover away from her family and playing broomball.

Perseverance is a trait we instill in all our students. It's not about being the best; it's about never giving up, no matter how tough things get. The culture of perseverance at ILCS extends beyond the classroom. The community rallies around its students, offering support and encouragement every step of the way. Whether it's a pep talk from a coach or a cheering section at a school event, students at ILCS know they're never alone in their journey. At Indian Lake Central School, perseverance is more than just a value; it's a testament to the strength and character of its students. Through hard work, determination, and unwavering support, students at ILCS continue to prove that no obstacle is too significant to overcome. These stories of perseverance inspire others to never give up on their goals, showcasing the true spirit of ILCS.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mulvey
