Indian Lake/Long Lake Orange Go #CleatsOutforAvery
Yesterday, the Indian Lake/Long Lake Orange proudly joined the #CleatsOutforAvery movement! Avery, a 12-year-old soccer player from Milford, Connecticut, was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma more than two years ago. She faced this devastating illness with immense courage and strength, but sadly, Avery passed away on July 12th of this year.
This month, Indian Lake Central School is honoring courage and bravery—two qualities that defined Avery and her battle against cancer. We were eager to join "Avery’s Little Army" in raising both awareness and funds for pediatric cancer. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Varsity and Modified teams, Coach Conboy, Coach Hoag, Coach Stephan, the National Honor Society, Junior National Honor Society, Mrs. Hoag, and Mrs. Wolfe, we quickly rallied behind this important cause.
We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of the Orange Nation, we have raised over $800 (and counting!) for Avery’s Little Army. Moving forward, we will continue to honor Avery each soccer season as a lasting reminder of her courage, bravery, and the mark she left on the world.
If you would like to contribute, please contact Mrs. Julie Wolfe (wolfej@ilcsd.org) or Mrs. Ashton Hoag (eldridgea@ilcsd.org), or check the attached flyer for details on how to donate online.
