Gratitude

Gratitude During the month of November, students and staff at ILCS focused on Gratitude as their character education trait. As part of this celebration, students were invited to nominate teachers and staff who they believe exemplify gratitude in all aspects of the ILCS community. These nominations highlight individuals who consistently demonstrate kindness, appreciation, and a positive impact on those around them.

The Middle School Students chose to honor and recognize their English teacher Mrs. Scofield. They stated Mrs. Scofield embodies gratitude through her constant encouragement, kindness, and appreciation for the small things people do for her. She always supports us, celebrates our achievements, and has something positive to say about everyone. Her enthusiasm during spirit week and other challenges shows how much she values community participation.

Even on tough days, she remains dedicated to making lessons enjoyable and uplifting for our class. She inspires us to be our best, giving us the courage and motivation to succeed. Her gratitude and positivity create a welcoming and inspiring environment, which is why I chose her.

The High School Students chose Mr. Librett, a new addition to our school this year. Mr. Librett works in our Special Education Department. The students shared he's an incredibly positive and uplifting person who always greets everyone with a smile. No matter what, he seems to stay happy and never lets challenges bring him down. His positivity and good vibes are contagious, creating a welcoming environment for everyone around him.

He treats everyone with kindness and respect, never being rude or dismissive to anyone. He's always there when someone needs him, offering support and showing genuine appreciation, even for the small things. He takes time to celebrate successes, big or small, making people feel valued.

This kind of dedication and positivity truly deserves recognition—and maybe even a raise!
