At ILCS, perseverance is more than just a word — it's a way of life, a core value that our students embody daily in and out of the classroom. From our youngest learners in Pre-K to our high schoolers tackling complex projects and extracurriculars, students across all grade levels demonstrate what it truly means to keep going, no matter the challenge. Here's a look at some inspiring stories of perseverance throughout the school, organized by grade level.
Pre-Kindergarten
David Harrington has shown tremendous perseverance throughout March. While he occasionally struggles to complete his work quickly, his effort and determination are never questioned. When David puts his mind to it, there's nothing he can't accomplish. Keep it up, David!
Kindergarten
Grayson Miner is a shining example of perseverance in kindergarten. No matter how tough the task, Grayson gives his best effort before seeking help. He arrives at school ready to work, stays responsible with his homework, and follows classroom rules — even when he'd instead be having fun. What a role model!
First Grade

James Feller has taken a unique approach by writing "perseverance" on his papers to remind himself not to give up. His belief in the "power of yet" is inspiring.
Lilly Miner also shines in the Math Karate Program. She doesn't shy away from challenging levels but faces them with optimism and renewed determination. Keep kicking, Lilly!

Ninth Grade
High school brings new challenges, but students like Brendan Husson, Arista Pierson, and Ava Herrell are rising to meet them.
Brendan brings consistency, discipline, and problem-solving skills to class every day.
Arista gets up early on Saturdays for pitching lessons while still excelling in schoolwork and activities—her dedication is unmatched.
Ava tackled a complex Found Poetry Art project, pushing through difficulty to create a beautiful piece inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Her creative perseverance is genuinely commendable.
